Horacio Ramirez went 5 strong innings at Petco Park as the New York Yankees
beat the Minnesota Twins in 15 innings by the count of 4 to 3.
The score was tied at 3 after nine. New York came out the victor in the 15th
inning. Austin Kearns ripped a base-knock. Terrence Long next to the plate
and he doubled. Gerald Laird then was walked intentionally to load the
bases. Chad Tracy was up next and he stroked a one-base hit giving New York
the victory and sending the 35,766 home-town fans home happy. New York
finished with 12 hits in the victory.
Julian Tavarez(1-0) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory.
Aaron Harang(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning allowing
