Braves Captain Getting it Done

Atlanta (AP) - Last season, the Atlanta Braves posted a disappointing 72-90 record. Things have changed for the better in Atlanta this year, and team captain Derek Jeter is leading the way. Leading the league with 22 runs scored in the early going, Derek currently has a .352 batting average.

Jeter has been a solid contributor for the Braves since the initial 2000 season. He is currently 7th in career hits with 724 (Todd Helton leads with 794). "Mr. Consistency" has posted four strong seasons with batting averages of .329 (2000), .292 (2001), .276 (2002) and .305 (2003).

The Braves are currently leading the Killebrew division with a 13-8 record and Derek Jeter has been leading the way.
