Braves World Series Champs



The Atlanta Braves won their first Millennium Championship by sweeping the Marlins in four games. A recap of the series:


ATL 5, FLA 4 (17) - A dramatic start to the series as Chipper Jones drove in Grady Sizemore in the bottom of the 17th for the win.


ATL 13, FLA 0 - John Lackey (3-0 in the postseason) fired a three hit shutout with 10 K's as the Braves grab a 2-0 series lead.


ATL 8, FLA 2 - Chipper Jones hi his 6th homer of the postseason and Kelvim Escobar hurled seven strong innings as the Braves pushed the Marlins to the brink of elimination.


ATL 5, FLA 3 - Chipper Jones had three more hits and the Atlanta bullpen pitched 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief as Atlanta wins their first championship.
