The score was tied at 4 after nine. Philadelphia came out on top in the 11thinning. After an out was recorded, Chris Young ripped a solo home run making Philadelphia the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Both teams finished the game with 11 hits. The win went to Octavio Dotel(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. Joe Smith(0-1) was given the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 run and 2 hits in 1 and 1/3 innings.
