One run was the difference at Edison Int'l Field as the Anaheim Angels defeated the Boston Red Sox in 10 innings 5 to 4.
The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Anaheim was victorious in the 10th inning. After two outs Bengie Molina delivered a solo blast resulting in a mighty exciting win for Anaheim and the 34,619 home town fans in attendance.
Anaheim had 9 hits for the night. Takashi Saito(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 innings. Salomon Torres(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He allowed 1 hit and no walks in 1/3 of an inning.
