JIM THOME (CLA) -- AL Batter of the Block

JOHN SMOLTZ (BOA) -- NL Pitcher of the Block
Boston closer Johm Smoltz dominated in his outings this block. In 9 games, he pitched a total of 10 1/3 innings without allowing a run. He struckout 10 and recorded 5 saves.
