Giants Knock Out White Sox in Six Games

Brian Dozier and the San Francisco Giants defeated the Chicago White Sox 4 games to 2.  A recap of the series:



Game 1:  SF 7, CHI 2
Scherzer fired complete game while fanning 16, Dozier hit homer, scored 3 runs and had 3 hits

Game 2:  SF 7, CHI 5 (10)
After the White Sox rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth, Coco Crisp hit a 2-run shot in the 10th for the game winner

Game 3:  CHI 5, SF 0
Scott Kazmir came through in the clutch by pitching 7+ scoreless innings, Will Myers hit a homer and drove in 3 runs

Game 4:  CHI 5, SF 1
Chicago evened the series at 2-2 as Sonny Gray struck out 8 in 6 strong innings.  Will Myers, batting .444 in the series so far, drove in his 5th run of the series.

Game 5:  SF 2, CHI 0
Adam Wainwright and Craig Kimbrel combined on a 4-hit shutout as the Giants pushed Chicago to the brink of elimination with a 2-0 win.  Wainwright struck out 10 and Kimbrel 2 in the dominant pitching performance.

Game 6:  SF 6, CHI 0
Giants eliminated Chicago as San Francisco pitchers tossed their second shutout.  Hiroki Kuroda (1-1, 0.56 ERA) scattered eight hits in the CG performance.  Joey Votto knocked in both San Francisco runs.
