Cole Hamels struck out 16 batters and right fielder Brad Hawpe slammed a

homerun and had 2 RBI as the Houston Astros ballclub embarrassed the Kansas

City Royals by the count of 10 to 0.



Hamels(2-7) was on top of his game. He gave up just 4 hits and 2 walks in 9

innings. Houston rapped out 11 hits for the night.



Dan Haren(2-6) was the loser. He was not very effective, surrendering 6 runs

in 5 and 1/3 innings. 'Hamels just dominated us' losing pitcher Haren said.

'Hopefully we can get to him the next time around'
