Reed Johnson then hits a walkoff single to end the game 9-8 and give Atlanta a 3-2 series lead going back to Pittsburgh.
Game 6 was a rematch of Game 2 with Clement vs. Thomson. However it was more like Game 3 because the Braves scored early and often as they pounded the Pirates, 12-4 to move on to the Championship series. Frank Thomas hit a homerun in the 1st, a double to drive home Jeter in the 3rd, and then a 9 run 5th inning put away the Pirates. John Thomson had a no-hitter into the 6th as he won the game.
