Carlos Silva(3-2) shut down the Atlanta Braves hitters at Comerica Park in 10
innings. The Chicago White Sox came away with a 1 to 0 victory.
Neither team scored in the first nine innings. Chicago was victorious in the
10th inning. Todd Pratt drew a walk. Brandon Phillips stepped up next and
he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Jack Wilson then drew a walk. After another
out, Tino Martinez stepped up to the plate and he delivered a single
resulting in an exciting win for Chicago and a raucous post-game celebration
by the home town fans. Chicago finished with 8 hits while Atlanta ended up
with 5.
Glendon Rusch(0-5) took the loss in relief. He allowed 1 run and 4 hits in 2
and 2/3 innings.
