Giants Win Wild 18-Inning Game Over Angels




The San Francisco Giants defeated the Anaheim Angels in 18 innings by a score of 9-6. Both teams scored single runs in the 15th to prolong the encounter. Coco Crisp hit a two-run homer in the 18th to help San Francisco score three runs in the 18th.

This game's length narrowly missed tying the all-time Millennium record of 19 innings that occurred in the 2001 season (6/11/2001) between Montreal and San Francisco.

Coco Crisp connected with a 'big fly' and had 2 RBI as the San Francisco
Giants beat the Anaheim Angels in 18 innings by a score of 9 to 6.

Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, San
Francisco pulled the game out in the 18th inning. After an out was recorded,
Barry Bonds began the rally when he lined a base-hit. Juan Pierre stepped
into the batter's box and he laced a base-knock. Julio Lugo then would
ground out bringing in a run. Crisp was up next and he smashed a two-run
homer (his 1st of the season). San Francisco finished with 18 hits in the
victory.

Felix Rodriguez(2-1) got the win allowing 1 run in 3 innings. Rodriguez was
helped out by Rod Beck who recorded his 6th save. Steve Reed(0-1) was
charged with the loss in relief.
