Hideki Matsui smashed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Minnesota Twins defeated the floundering Washington Nationals 9 to 0 at Metrodome.
Matsui provided the offensive punch. He smashed a two-run homer in the 4th inning and rifled a three-run blast in the 6th inning. Minnesota out-hit Washington for the game, 13 hits to 7.
Aaron Harang(11-8) got the win allowing no runs in 7 innings. Matt Belisle(3-10) was hit with the loss. He pitched 5 innings giving up 7 hits and 2 walks.
