Wells and Blue Jays Making Some Noise

Toronto (AP) - Blue Jays centerfielder Vernon Wells has been having a dramatic impact on the upstart Toronto Blue Jays. With a record of 40-122 just a season ago, the Toronto Blue Jays are no longer an easy opponent. One of the big reasons has been the early outstanding play of their star - Vernon Wells.

Vernon Wells leads the league in homers (23), leads the league in RBI's (60), and is third in the league in batting average (.356). Wells is also tied for 7th in the league in runs scored (42). An amazing start for the 24 year old youngster. . . .
