Players of the Block - Block 6

JIM THOME (CLA) -- AL Batter of the Block
Cleveland DH Jim Thome led the AL this block with his 8 Home Runs and 22 RBIs. In addition, he was near the top of the league in AVG (.375) and OBP (.500).



LUIS GONZALEZ (ARN) -- NL Batter of the Block
Luis Gonzalez help the NL leading Arizona Diamondbacks with his 9 HR, 18 RBI performance. He batted .299 with an OBP of .432 and scored 19 runs.



VLADIMIR NUNEZ (HON) -- AL Pitcher of the Block
Houston reliever Vlad Nunez earns the AL best pitcher award. He was a workhorse, pitching 25.1 innings in 14 games. His performance in those games: 2-0, 0.36 ERA, 18 Ks.





RANDY JOHNSON (ARN) -- NL Pitcher of the Block
The Diamondbacks sweep the awards this block. Randy Johnson's 3-0 performance along with an ERA 0.65 was best among pitchers in the NL. He struckout 39 in his 27.2 innings of work.
