For the first time in their history, the Chicago White Sox are Millennium League champs after defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers in six games. A recap of the series:
Game #1 - Dodgers 4, White Sox 2
Patrick Corbin tossed 5+ scoreless innings while fanning nine. Tommy Pham had three hits and knocked in two.
Game #2 - White Sox 5, Dodgers 2 (12)
Will Myers hit a walkoff three shot in the bottom of the 12th for the game winner.
Game #3 - White Sox 4, Dodgers 1
Pinch hitter Kris Davis hit a three run homer in the top of the 8th to give Chicago a 2-1 series lead.
Game #4 - Dodgers 3, White Sox 2
A tight game as the Dodger pitching staff held Chicago to just three hits. Hyun-Jin Ryu tossed seven innings of two hit ball. David Peralta got the big hit as he doubled home two runs in thebottom of the 8th.
Game #5 - White Sox 13, Dodgers 3
Trade acquisition Luis Severino again provided dividends as he fanned 15 batters over 8 innings. Freddie Freeman batting .368 in the post season got two more hits and two rbi's.
Game #6 - White Sox 6, Dodgers 3 (10)
Manny Machado hit a 3-run walkoff homer in the bottom of the 10th to give Chicago their first trophy.
