White Sox Trading Players



Chicago (AP) - The White Sox, struggling through a rough 2003 season, decided to part ways with
two popular players and build for the future.
In separate deals, Chicago sent catcher A. J. Pierzynski to Arizona for a pair of draft picks. The fiery catcher is currently hitting .352 in 58 games played. Last season, A.J., hit .307 with 6 HR's and 56 RBI's in 126 games while playing for the Sox.


Then, righty reliver David Weathers was sent to Philadelphia in exchange for Scott Hatteberg. Draft picks were also traded. Weathers has a 1-4 mark with a 5.34 ERA this season. David was 4-1 with a 4.60 ERA in 76 innings pitched last season for Chicago.
