July 7:
Angels.......... 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 3 - 4 13 0
Twins........... 0 0 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 - 2 9 2

J.Washburn WIN(7-5), L.Vizcaino L(2-2)
The Anaheim Angels came roaring back in the top of the ninth to spoil the
anticipated celebration of the hometown fans. The final score was 4 to
2.

Anaheim came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning plating 3
runs on 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Maicer Izturis got things
going when he banged out a single. One out later, Carlos Delgado came to bat
and drew a walk. Alfonso Soriano then delivered a one-base hit to load the
bases. Mark Teixeira followed and he doubled. Nick Markakis got his chance
to keep things going, but he went down on strikes. Anaheim finished with 13
hits while Minnesota ended up with 9.

Jarrod Washburn(7-5) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing 2 runs. Washburn got help from Takashi Saito who was credited with his 13th save. The losing pitcher was Luis Vizcaino(2-2) in relief.

Bob Petersen was understandably not very talkative after his team's tough loss. He quickly showered and changed and when asked about the game had a terse, yet polite response, 'Hey fellows, that game was a heart-breaker to lose. Our guys gave it their all and played well - fate just wasn't smilin' on us this afternoon'
