Hawpe Hits Walk Off Grand Slam to Sink Redbirds

Ron Mahay had an impressive outing at US Cellular Field as the Houston Astros staged a comeback win over the St. Louis Cardinals by the count of 10 to 8.
Houston won the game with a rally in the 9th inning when they tallied 4 runs on 3 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Brad Hawpe who excited the crowd when he caught a hold of a fastball for a Grand Slam homerun.
Houston totaled 10 hits on the afternoon.
Mahay(2-2) allowed no runs in 5 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Chad Cordero(0-4) took the loss in relief. He allowed 1 hit and 1 walk in 1/3 of an inning.
